At Spade Paddles, we create high-performance paddles for those who live for the water.

Our story began in 2005 under the name Ophion Paddles, in a small village in north-west Slovenia, just a stone's throw from the legendary Soča River.

​

What started as an engineer's passion for designing and building his own paddle grew into more than 20 years of experience, craftsmanship and continuous innovation.

​

The Soča remains our inspiration and our testing ground. Every paddle is developed with one goal: to deliver exceptional performance, reliability and connection with the water.

In 2026, Ophion Paddles joined forces with Spade Kayaks and became Spade Paddles.

​

The name changed, but our passion, experience and craftsmanship remain.
